Alex has been kind enough to offer guidance in District-X, but does anyone have any suggestions for mutant owned/operated restaurants in general? Food trucks, sit down places, pizza joints, ethnic foods? Anything and everything, I'm hoping this'll be a showcase of some of the City (and Westchester's) finest mutant-created cuisine, but I'm obviously not familiar enough to know all the best places. Any other suggestions?

Cafe Delish over in the back corner of District X makes authentic Ethiopian food. Not sure how they're getting their spices imported.

Got a couple food trucks (Tacos Bonitos, Pok-e-bowl, Fish in a Barrel, Snack Attack Fast!) for sure going to be at the local park for the summer splash event. They're going to try and talk a few of the other local trucks into coming.

Yamoto Ramen and Sushi just set up shop closer toward the apartments and where the college kids hang out.

Got your traditional steakhouse, Saltlick Drive, over near the upscale area, and the Brazilian steakhouse, Churrascaria, a few blocks over.

oh, shit is Pok-e-Bowl x-gene? DUDE. I've been like eating there forever, nobody saaaaaaaaaid. Shit. Wait. Wait is it that cashier that's there on the weekend? I THOUGHT HIS HAIR WAS DYED. oh shit I'm a bad mutant my mutant dar is broken.

Might be. I know he's got a penchant for slipping the more obvious mutant folks a bit extra. The owners also tend to drive through the grimier neighborhoods and hand out takeout bags to those they spot.

Shit I gotta stop wearing a hat when I go out.

You're going to need a budget for how often you're planning to go there now.

I mean I got one I just am gonna have to increase it.

Oh that reminds me, Yjo to Go, the Greek place - not the deli, the food truck? His kid's x-gene pos. Hasn't manifested anything other than some extra wrist bones cause he's like like nine (have you seen that kid color, he colors like, both hands with one upside down, it's rad)

Brilliant! I love Greek, too. And no, I haven't seen the boy colour, but I'll have to see if he's about when we go for taste testing!

One hand coloring the typical way, the other one totally rotated like 180, coloring backwards. Rad as hell.

Man greek is so good like, I'll pass on olives sometimes (sometimes too briny) but damn I will eat pitas and dolmas and gyros for EVER.

I just want all the baklava now, but I don't think I should put in an order for ten million pieces of baklava...

Okay so Mac X Cheese is at LEAST x-people positive in that I've seen visible mutants working for them before. Idk if Dom (the truck owner) is one of us though. They're usually near the edges of District X.

Lovely! I'll add them to the list. At the very least, promoting allies won't hurt anyone. I'm just hoping we can get more mutant owned options as well.

There's a place that is like, a chocolatier, but they have a regular cafe menu too, it's just that everything has some kind of cocoa/vanilla/caramel flavor in it. So they do stuff with a mole sauce, or caramel hollandaise, etc. Everything's really rich.

Alex bro, you missed out on some of the easier DX venues.

I'm positive the DNA-borhood Grill could be encouraged to join in with some Double Helix burgers. I'm also sure we could swing some favors with the clubs for drinks — Shakespeare's and Wildkat are on XFI's thumbs up list (best to let Dane's Inferno improve their attitude right now). If we need them, though, I can probably smile a lot and swing something. :) :)

Has DNA-borhood figured out the Base Pair Pear Salad thing because last time I was out with Laurie she got it and it wasn't quite there.

Oh, that sounds wonderful! I hadn't thought of drinks yet, just that we weren't going to be trying them while taste testing food. But having a bar showcase is a brilliant idea. Thank you!
