Open call for volunteers who want to help with the Community Centre's fall sports (for those of you who aren't already involved) as well as lining up after school activities. Also, planning ahead, the Director's asked if anyone might be interested in leading any winter classes and/or clubs over the winter hols.

Oh, and for our legally minded friends here, there seems to have been something of an uptick in issues with landlords. Anyone who doesn't mind donating a bit of time to helping review leases, the effort would be most appreciated.

That said, I'm taking the weekend, my boyfriend, and a bag to a cabin with almost no mobile service and ignoring all of you until Monday morning. (I can pass along the volunteer list on Monday, so no worries about that not getting over to the Director.)

Sure thing re: leases. I can add a few extra hours to my time and have a dedicated presence... I'll figure out a morning, evening, and weekend spot where I can show up for 3-4 dedicate hours most weeks and review leases and complaints.

We'll see what we can do legal channels... and if we start getting more pushback from those assholes, we can hand it off to XFi. I'm sure Hope can cram "ruin a scumlord's year" into her overpacked calendar. ;)

Awesome. I'll see what we can do legally for folks first, because sometimes a C&D on official letterhead works wonders. I'll send the real assholes and any blockers in the city your way to deal with. Also see if I can find some sort of pattern to it - if there's an uptick there's probably someone with motivation and means up the chain pulling strings. You know the type, just enough money or blackmail to stop thinking the laws apply to them.

How would you feel about a wilderness survival camp next year? I thought summer might work best, since it'll be warm enough not to need to lug around heavier, warmer clothes. Also, a week would be more manageable then.
